About Us

The Delta Forestry Group started out in Delta, British Columbia in 1958 as a passion project of Errol Wintemute. Originally cutting railway ties Errol converted the mill to be able to cut long lengths and brought on a Partner, John Dyck to build and run a new remanufacturing plant. With humble beginnings, our team has grown over the years from that single line mill to four separate divisions, shipping quality forest products globally.

Over 60 Years of Forestry Experience.

From The Beginning

Delta Cedar began operations in 1958 on the current site of the existing Delta Cedar Sawmill. The original mill was designed for cutting cross arms but was soon modified to allow longer cut lengths. By 1964 Delta Cedar began milling its own red and yellow cedar and built a new remanufacturing site across the street.

From those humble beginnings, our team has grown over the years, expanding into four separate divisions operating under Delta Forestry Group, shipping quality forest products globally.
